Fun Things to Do On The Oregon Coast

Looking for fun things to do on the Oregon Coast? Come fill your days with excitement only found in Florence, Oregon—Oregon’s Coastal Playground.

To our south, discover the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, the largest coastal sand dunes in North America that rise as high as 500 feet above the ocean. Hire a professional driver to take you out on a thrilling high-speed and informational tour or rent ATVs or sandboards and explore on your own. You’ll also find large and beautiful lakes for fishing or boating.

To the north, you’ll find numerous beach access points, awesome vistas, and places to explore. Roughly 20 distractingly scenic miles north (stop often and take it all in) you will find the spectacular Cape Perpetua which has everything from tide pools and spouting horns to the ancient forest and towering 20-mile views.

In and around town you’ll find quaint shops, surprising galleries, and great food and drink in Historic Old Town. There’s a burgeoning antique district a few blocks away, a historic museum and a military heritage museum in town too. And it’s just a short drive to some amazing golf or mile after mile of uncrowded beaches.

At the end of a fun-filled day of exploring everything our area has to offer, head back to your cozy getaway at The River House Inn, plan your next day (or two) of fun, and contemplate your many choices for evening dining and entertainment. You’ll be making memories to last a lifetime, no matter what you choose to do.
