Bibliophiles Unite – It’s the Festival of Books!

Calling all readers, writers, editors, and collectors—your annual riveting page-turner of an event, also known as the Florence Festival of Books, returns each year on the last Saturday in September at the Florence Events Center! This is a favorite event of locals and folks from all over the west coast—an event for anyone who wants to learn about great new books and to meet authors and publishers.

“So many books, so little time.” –Frank Zappa
Yes, Mr. Zappa, we agree, and so it will be with two days and more than 70 authors and publishers at the annual Florence Festival of Books. And with so little time, you’ll want to head directly to 715 Quince St. in Florence.

“The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.” –Jane Austen
Intolerable stupidity will be vanquished, Ms. Austen. And not just by good novels. There will be something for everyone: fiction, fantasy, fact, mystery, thrillers, children’s books, African literature, and book after book on geography, history, poetry, outdoor adventures, animals, food, culture and cultures, faith, hobbies, and travel.

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.” –Cicero
Well, Mr. Cicero, with a nearly 8,000 square-foot “body,” the Florence Events Center’s exhibition area will be full of books—and soul! And with all those writers and publishers, your bookish soul will be more than satisfied.
