Florence’s locally owned and operated River House Inn and Old Town Inn each received a 2020 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award.
This makes nine in a row for The Old Town Inn and 10 for The River House Inn. The award places the two inns in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe. Both have previously achieved TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame status too.
Over the last 12 months the two inns have been consistently ranked by TripAdvisor in the top three of 30 lodgings in Florence and the central coast. Over the last several years, both have earned regular placement on Oregon Business Magazine “100 Best Fan Favorite Destinations in Oregon” and have won the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce’s Siuslaw Award for outstanding customer service.

TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice honors hospitality businesses that have consistently received strong praise and ratings from travelers. This recognition helps travelers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service. The award accounts for the quality, quantity, and recency of reviews submitted by travelers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period. To qualify, both local inns had to maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five with a minimum number of reviews.
Typical TripAdvisor customer comments about The River House Inn and The Old Town Inn include “A gem on the Oregon Coast,” “immaculate rooms,” “best stay and value in Florence,” “fantastic rooms in great location,” and “wonderful, clean, economical, and outstanding.”
“We have the best guests in world,” said Moore. “They’re here to have a good time, and our staff do everything they can to work as much fun into their stay as possible. For example, they’ll print maps, menus, and tide charts; make restaurant reservations; coordinate dune buggy, horseback, or airplane rides; and help organize golf foursomes among our guests.”
